Ruth Ann Stowers

August 21, 1940 — January 21, 2022

Ruth Ann Stowers, 81, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on January 21, 2022.

Ruth, "Ruthie" to her dearest friends, was born on August 21, 1940, in Garden City, Kansas to John and Mary Hurd. Ruth attended high school in Garden City, graduating in 1958. She married Bennie Joe Stowers in 1959. Ruth and Bennie enjoyed 57 years of life and love together until his passing in 2017. They raised their family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They later retired to Pensacola, Ponte Vedra, and then Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Ruth was a top-rated realtor and always on the lookout for their next beautiful home or plot upon which to build. She was also very talented at decorating, crafting, cooking, hosting, and anything else she set her mind to do.

Ruth was a kind and loving woman, a bright shining light, adored by her family and friends. She was uniquely positive and saw the best in people. Her family and friends often saw her with a soft smile on her face and love in her eyes, and when Ruth hugged, she really hugged. She loved her time on the beach with Bennie and her family and friends. Those close to her enjoyed Ruth's witty observations and long conversations about life, family, current events, construction, decorating, and even the love of dogs. Ruth loved her dogs.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary; husband Bennie; siblings Neoma, Eugene, Don, and Roscoe; and grandson Ryan.

She is survived by her son Jody; daughter Joya; grandchildren Kristyn, Brittany, and Josh; great-granddaughter Isabella; sister Tillie; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other family members and friends.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held in Gulf Breeze, Florida in April of 2022. Details will be sent to family and friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
