Rodney Corwin Morgan

Rodney Corwin Morgan, Tulsa resident formerly of Edmond, passed away Thursday morning, October 4, 2018, with his family by his side, at the age of 70 years. He was born on September 11, 1948 in Tulsa, OK to his parents, Charles Morgan and Cleta Morgan.

Rod was raised in El Dorado, Kansas, where he graduated from high school in 1966. He was accepted and attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO., later transferring to Kansas State University to obtain his Bachelors Degree and to be a member of the Kansas State University Wrestling team. Rod was an exceptional wrestler in high school winning the State Title in his weight class. He continued his successful wrestling career while at Kansas State.
Rod was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. After his college graduation, Rod was a teacher in Chapman, Kansas and coached the high school wrestling team. While he was teaching Rod met the love of his life, Jane Munson, and they were married on June 7, 1975 in Belleville, KS. After they were married they resided in Chapman. In 1985 Rod changed careers and began working with Acme Brick and Tile as a Sales Manager & Architectural Sales for Oklahoma City. He retired from Acme in 2013.

Rod enjoyed many hobbies, however his passion was fishing. He was an accomplished angler and traveled to Canada for many fishing trips throughout his life. Rod also enjoyed watching sports, especially the K-State Wildcats football team. He was a devoted family man, whether it was coaching his children's sports teams, or being the doting grandfather to his grandchildren- whom he absolutely adored. Rod was always actively volunteering in his community with various community groups helping others; Rod had a true servant's heart. Rod will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cleta Morgan.

Rod leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Jane Morgan; son, Chuck Morgan and wife Hannah; daughter, Katie Pitt and husband, Matt; brother, Charles Morgan and wife Linda; sister, Jan Rosander; granddaughters, Shea Brown, Chloe Brown, Palmer Morgan, and Charlee Morgan; grandson, Christopher Corwin Brown, and a grandson on the way, Jones Corwin Morgan, 2 step-grandsons, Brody Pitt and Mason Pitt; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday the 17th of October, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S Rankin St, Edmond, OK 73034, with Pastor Jen Howat officiating.
