Robert Doyle Washington

Reverend Robert Doyle Washington Sr., age 75, a resident of Okmulgee, OK died on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his home. He was born in Henryetta, OK on August 8, 1938 to Thomas and Martha Washington. He began his deacon work on November 27, 1982 and his ministry work on May 12, 1984 at Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church, where he went on the pastor there for over the next two decades. Currently, he was pastor at Artussee Indian Baptist Church. His parents, two brothers Bill Washington and Solomon Lee, a sister LuAnn Washington, and a daughter LaDonna Ann Washington preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Irene Washington, two sons Vincent Jerome Washington and Robert Doyle Washington, Jr. and his spouse Diane Beasley, two daughters Annette Washington and spouse Bobby Marshall and Linette Factor and spouse Brian Factor, three grandsons Hunter Yvhv Washington, Thunder Fuswv Washington, and Aidan Hotvle Factor all of Okmulgee, OK, two sisters Darlene Buckner of Okmulgee, OK and Stella Washington of Muskogee, OK. The couple also self-adopted three grandson’s Steven Neil Rabbit, Blake Aaron Johnson, and Tyler Austin Johnson. Robert and Irene had been happily married for 47 years. Robert had been well and blessed with his health until the age of 74 when he had a heart attack, five bypasses, and several mini strokes. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Wake Service will be on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., both at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Joe Grayson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church Cemetery in Okmulgee. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dunn, Jim Barley, Barton Looney, Jerry Sumka, Johnnie Micco, Steve Randall, Roley Frye, Amos Rabbit, Jimmy Hicks and Rusty Powell. Pallbearers will be Brian Factor, Bobby Marshall, Marcy Washington, Dion Washington, Mac Rabbit, and Gerald Rabbit.
