Rafic Abou Mark Dit Roum

March 23, 1954 — February 23, 2019

Rafic Abou Mark Dit Roum died, at the young age of 64 after 9 month of struggle with Kidney failure and many other complications. He died peacefully in the Comfort of his home and family.

Passionate, compassionate and a true gentleman Rafic said goodbye to his wife, son, daughter and granddaughter with a smile. He was weak on the day of his death but was aware of his surroundings.

Anyone else fighting ESRD, back surgery Meningioma and many other complications would have gone quietly, but Rafic was a fighter, he fought with all his soul for 9 month going from one medical facility to the other. He tried his best always motivated and positive, he was never a pessimistic and always believed that life would give him a fair chance.

The way he died is just like he lived: a fighter and a lover no matter what the circumstances are/were, he fought his illness fiercely and loved his family dearly. And if you said he couldn’t do it, he would make sure he could.

Rafic was a fantastic engineer and a great man, he worked all his life and gave everything to his family, whether it is financial or emotional. Rafic respected everyone regardless of their background, he loved everyone equally and surrounded himself with people from all over the world. He was a true man of love, he showed that no matter what you have the biggest wealth in life is the love you have.

His most important value was always the love he provided his family, even though due to his work circumstance he could not spend as much time as he wanted with his kids and wife he still made sure that everyday he told them he loves them, EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Rafic went too early, and as heavens open their gates to welcome a Knight between the cavalry, I remember my dad’s teachings, he taught me to be courageous, fair, forgiving and to always hold my head up. Rafic will be missed dearly every day of my life to the last breath I take, its so comforting knowing that my dad is up there watching over me.

Love can not describe the feelings we as a family have but it is the closest word we have. WE LOVE YOU.

It is NEVER Goodbye, it is always I WILL see you later.
