Patricia Kay Lazare

September 20, 1946 — July 21, 2020

Patricia Kay Lazare passed from this life peacefully on July 21, 2020, in her home, surrounded by family. Pat was born to Kenneth and Maxine Holloway on September 20, 1946, in Rochelle, Illinois, one of five children.

Pat met Dennis Lazare in Chicago in 1968. They were married on Valentine's Day 1969. On July 7, 1972, Pat gave birth to twins, Dennis Dominick and Denise Rose Lazare. They made their home in Chicago until 1993, when Dennis was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pat spent many years caring for her son Denny, who was afflicted with muscular dystrophy. She also spent several years caring for her grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, and Tyler Stockton, while their parents worked.

The kids enjoyed spending the days with Pat and Dennis baking cookies and swimming in their pool. Pat also cared for Dennis when he became ill with cancer. After Dennis passed, Pat moved into Forest Creek Patio Homes making a new home for herself and meeting new friends and neighbors.

Having spend her life caring others, there was no shortage of people willing to care for Pat when she needed it. Pat instilled in those around her the importance of doing things the right way, and going the extra mile.

She fought cancer hard, amazing everyone with her fortitude. She woke up ready to take her medicine and eat with a great attitude every time, even in the middle of the night.

The family would like to thank Saint Francis Hospice and all of the family and friends who helped care for Pat over the last several months.

A celebration honoring Pat's life is currently pending.
