Patricia Elaine Elsass

January 3, 1944 — March 3, 2023

Patricia "Patty" Elaine Quick Elsass passed away peacefully on the morning of March 3, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 79 years of age and was surrounded by her family. Patty was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on January 3, 1944 to the late Jerry Thomas "J.T." Quick and Arlene Marie Chambers Quick. Patricia was an involved and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Growing up in Sapulpa, Patty was raised to be an avid animal lover. Her parents, J.T. and Arlene owned and operated various aquariums and pet shops around the Tulsa area. J.T. worked for some time at the Tulsa Zoo. This upbringing led to some unique pets in Patty's childhood, including but not limited to, a groundhog, lion cub, exotic birds and numerous fish.

Later, the family moved to Tulsa where Patty attended Will Rogers High School until transferring her junior year to attend Nathan Hale and join her high-school sweetheart Dennis Lee Elsass. The couple met while Patty worked at TG&Y and rumor is that Patty transferred schools just to be closer to Dennis. The couple spent many weekends cruising the "Restless Ribbon" on Brookside with friends and attending movies at the Admiral Twin all in Dennis's 1951 Ford.

After their time at Nathan Hale, Dennis and Patty would go on to get married October 14, 1961. Their household was quickly joined by Donna Leigh Elsass Giebel on March 2, 1962 and Gregory Glen Elsass on August 10, 1963. To support their growing family Patricia worked at Zebco, assembling fishing reels, while Dennis was driving a semi-truck at Affiliated Foods.

Patty loved celebrating and decorating her home for Christmas frequently buying a birthday cake for Jesus, complete with candles. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and spoiling the family pets. In her mid-30's her eyesight began to fail her and she was ultimately diagnosed with macular degeneration and glaucoma. So after their kids left the home, the couple traveled around partly to enjoy their time together and partly to allow Patty to see her favorite cities before her eyesight failed her.

Patty and Dennis were blessed to be the grandparents of Dustin Keith, Rachel Marie, Heather Alexis and Garrett Glen. Patty loved spoiling her grandchildren and often watched them in her home. She hosted egg hunts at Easter and always hid a pickle on the Christmas tree for the grandkids to find.

In later years, Patty had many hobbies including researching family genealogy, reconnecting with childhood friends on social media, and was a passionate collector of Precious Moments, angels, and cardinal figurines. Patty and Dennis were also members of the Garnett Road Baptist Church for decades where they enjoyed all aspects of social life within the church community.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, her son Greg and her siblings Olin Arliss "Buddy" and Jerrie Ann. She is survived by her loving husband Dennis, her daughter Donna, sister Carol (Quick) Alix and husband Ralph, and her grandchildren, Dustin Giebel and wife Valery, Rachel (Giebel) Allen and husband Tyler, Heather Elsass, and Garrett Elsass, and her many many great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is schedule for 10am on Thursday March 9 at the Garnett Road Baptist Church, 620 S. Garnett Rd. Tulsa, OK. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, cards and charitable donations are welcomed.
