Otis Allen Dunn

Otis Allen Dunn, Sr. of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at the age of 71. Otis was born on September 7, 1949 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to his parents, Wesley and JoAn (Sunny) Dunn.

Growing up in the Okmulgee County, Otis attended several schools over the years. Those of which include Rocky Hill School, Nuyaka, Beggs, Sequoyah, and then obtaining his GED.

Otis proudly served our country in the Army beginning on September 11, 1969 in which he served during the Vietnam War earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Otis was Honorably Discharged on March 21, 1971. He was proud to continue his service in the Muscogee Nation Color Guard and the Seminole Nation Color Guard.

Otis worked as a truck driver for many years. He delivered for Phillips Trucking in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and made runs to Arkansas. He also worked for Groendyke Trucking, Ball Brothers Glass Plant and the Okmulgee Veterans Smoke Shop.

He loved being outdoors and tinkering on cars. He enjoyed anything mechanical and loved fishing along with casinos and gambling. Otis was also a longtime member of Honey Creek Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by father, Wesley Dunn and mother, JoAn Dunn. Three brothers include Wesley S. Dunn II, Richard M. Dunn, Johnny L. Dunn and sister Mary A. Dunn.

Otis leaves many loving memories with his family including son, Otis A. Dunn Jr. and wife Jackie, daughter Sonna J. Dunn - Austin and husband Charles, brothers, Thomas E. Dunn and George C. Dunn Sr and wife Babara, sisters, Ellen K. Haney and Josephine Haneberg, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

A public viewing and visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM August 19, 2021 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Haden Michael Dunn.

Pallbearers include Ray Wells, JR Haney, Edwin Dunn, Dusty Dunn, Thomas Brinnon, and George C. Dunn. Honorary pallbearers include Darren Dunn, Mark Dunn, Mike Haney, Rodney Holcomb and Wesley Dunn III.
