Opal M. Mayfield

Opal M. Mayfield, age 88 passed away at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 24, 2006.
Mrs. Mayfield was born October 1, 1918 in Brownsville, Oklahoma to Arthur Tillman and Bernice Macon Tillman. She married Oran Bishop Mayfield in Vernon, Texas on February 28, 1949. Mrs. Mayfield moved to the Tulsa area from Coleman, Texas approximately eight years ago. She most recently resided at Brighton Gardens of Tulsa where she stayed active by going on trips with her friends. Opal loved to sew. She enjoyed eating catfish and spending time with her devoted dog: €œHappy€.
Opal Mayfield was preceded in death by her husband: Oran Bishop Mayfield (August 9, 1982) and her son: J. D. Mayfield.
She is survived by: five brothers: John Sons of Mission Viejo, CA; Earl Sons of Henderson, NV; J. R. Sons of Tucumcari, NM; Roy Sons of Lubbock, TX; Carl J. Mathews of Madill, OK; five sisters: Jo Ann; Joyce Whitten of Middleton, TX; Iona Miller of Amarillo, TX; Venita Glover of Ada, OK; Nita Mathews of Kingston, OK; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29th at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Also, a memorial service will be held January 6th at South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, Oklahoma
