April 27, 1940 — February 4, 2021

Naomi Lorene (Joy) Snowden died on Thursday, February 4th at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80. She was born April 27th, 1940 to Lola Mae & Jack Daniel. Joy is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Mervin Snowden; her children Sherri (Steve) Voelkel, and Kevin Snowden; her grandchildren Taylor Voelkel and Michelle Voelkel; and her brothers Leon Daniel and Ralph Daniel. Joy married Mervin on August 10, 1962. Joy attended business school and worked while Mervin finished his college degree and served in Vietnam. She also helped Mervin run and grow their business, Snowden Engineering. She was very active in the lives of her children growing up; girl scout leader, soccer mom, cheerleading sponsor and more. She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, boating, exercise class with her friends. She had a passion for collecting dolls and enjoyed being a part of the doll club. She loved spoiling her granddaughters with dolls, stuffed animals and all the things little girls love. She used to take her dog, Jenny, everywhere with her and delighted in talking to everyone about her. Joy was kind and never met a stranger. Joy will be forever in our hearts.

Due to the restrictions of the coronavirus, the family will have a small graveside service for immediate family only. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
