Minnie A. Williams

Minnie A. Williams, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the age of 90. She was born November 18, 1922 to Perry and Eular (Hughes) Hurst in Leonard, Oklahoma. Minnie enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time outdoors and she loved gospel music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Eular Hurst; husband, Bob Williams; two brothers, Perry Odis and James Hurst; son, Eldon Perry Ashlock and two daughters, Gwen and Sharon Williams. Survivors include her four children, Leon Albert Ashlock, Lynn D. Williams, Everett Ray Ashlock and Richard Melvin Ashlock; one brother, Buddy Lee Hurst and Donna Turman and numerous, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Bubba Kellogg, Scott McCormick, David Ashlock, Everett Horn, Les Love and Joe Crosley.
