Mildred Thrower

Mildred Wynona Thrower Mildred Wynona Thrower, a lifetime resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the age of 90. She was born June 11, 1920 to William Edgar and Ella (Nichols) Jones in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1940 and on December 15, 1945, she married William Thrower. Mildred was a member of the Second Baptist Church, the Eastern Star and Happy Homemakers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thrower; parents William and Ella Jones; two daughters, Mildred Ann Thrower and Donna Kay Maxwell, who was married to Tony Maxwell from Muskogee. Survivors include her children, Randy Thrower and wife, Barbara of Keifer, Ricky Thrower and wife, Shirley of Okmulgee and Timmie J. Thrower and wife, Tricia of Okmulgee; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Reverend David Nash officiating. Her final resting place will be next to her husband at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Members of the Second Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
