Michael Thomas Ewing (Mike) died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Francis Heart Hospital in Tulsa after a courageous, year-long battle with Cancer.

Michael was born January 8, 1944 in Independence, KS to Samuel Thomas and Carol G. Ewing (Conner).

Michael graduated from Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville, KS and then served in the United States Air Force. After the Air Force, he attended Tulsa University.

Michael and Sandra were married in July 1974 in Omaha, NE. Michael worked in City Planning and Urban Renewal in Omaha, before moving to Tulsa in 1981 to try his hand in the restaurant business. He finished his working years in Furniture Sales and Sales Management before retiring in 2004.

Michael and Sandra spent their retirement years as active members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Oklahoma and buying and selling treasures at many auctions and flea markets. Michael sang in the Church Choir at First Jenks United Methodist Church in Jenks, OK and rode for many years with the Oklahoma Patriot Guard.

Michael is survived by his wife Sandra (Gilbert); sisters Ardis McLeod of Northville, MI and Judith Miller of Tulsa, OK; 3 sons and their spouses, David and Erin Marang of Hudson, MA, Nick and Debbie Ewing of Minnetrista, MN and Darrin and Melanie Marang of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren, Michelle Bohmert (Justin), Heather Malroney (Beau), Michael W. Ewing, Reed Stepp and Thomas Ewing; 2 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Lily and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Carol Ewing, brother David Ewing and sister Sandra George.

It was Michaels wish to be cremated. The family is planning a memorial service in the Spring with a family interment service in Independence, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Disabled American Veterans Charity in lieu of flowers.
