Michael Conard Wagner

October 30, 1957 — July 27, 2020

Michael Conard Wagner, Sr. passed and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on July 27, 2020. Mike was born on October 30, 1957 in Oceanside California. He went on to graduate high school at Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, MN. From there he attended Oklahoma State University’s College of Technical Sciences in Okmulgee Oklahoma. He continued his education at NSU in Tahlequah where he concentrated on Math and Engineering.

After attending NSU, he enrolled in Calvary Chapel Bible College in Twin Peaks, California where he graduated in 1982. There he met his future bride, Germaine Cabrera. They married in 1983. Shortly after, Mike began his career as a Land Surveyor. He worked his way through apprenticeship, and ultimately passed his Professional Engineer’s exam in 1988 to become a Licensed Land Surveyor. He worked for a private engineering company for several years before he landed a job with the California Department of Transportation. He worked for CalTrans for over 20 years and was four days from his official retirement when he passed.

Mike was an avid train enthusiast. He loved all things mechanical, and actually built a beautiful Gloucester Dory Boat by hand. He loved to hunt and fish as he was an avid outdoorsman. His passion for mechanical things was outpaced by his love of reading. His knowledge on a multitude of subjects was nothing short of incredible.

Most important to him was his family. He leaves behind two adult sons, Michael C. Wagner II and Nathan Wagner. He was so proud of his sons and their exemplary military careers. Mike also leaves behind two grandchildren, Natalie and Sydney. He is survived by his Father, Edward C Wagner, his Mother, Sandra A. Wagner, his Brother, Kenneth Wagner and Sister-in-Law Beth Wagner. He loved his many nephews and nieces: Braden and Eden Wagner, Aaron, Isaac, Becca, Jerry, Chris and Rachel Cabrera. Mike is survived by three cousins who were like siblings, Connie Sanford, Karen Holman and Kellie Blanton. He loved animals and had several dogs who served as Man’s Best Friend, including his German Shepard, Naku with whom he won the Oklahoma State Frisbee Catching Championship.

MIKE LOVED HIS Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom he accepted and was born-again in 1977. Mike was a kind soul, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He is missed greatly.
