Max Bryan Thornton, 48, left this earthly plane on October 23rd, 2021, from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be held on October 29th at Schaudt's Funeral Services located at 5757 S. Memorial, Tulsa. The family asks that everyone who knew Max to please come and celebrate his life. There will be a visitation at 12:00pm, a service at 2:00pm and lively reception following the service. Max loved good music, good food and good friends. His family will be honoring him with a reception which includes all three. A private interment will be at a later date.

He was survived by his daughter, Haleigh Marie Thornton, his mother, Marilyn Leatherman Duhe, his father, Max Edsel Thornton, his sister Stacy Lee Thornton, his sister and brother-in-law, Ashley Duhe Allain and Raymond Edward Allain, Jr., three nieces, three nephews, his large extended family, many lifelong friends and his beloved black lab, Moxxi June.

Max was born in Branson, Missouri on July 9th, 1973. When Max was very young, his parents uprooted the family and moved to Lafayette, Louisiana. He spent most of his childhood in Lafayette where he learned to love good food and good music. His high school years were spent back in Branson where he learned to love football and good friends. He graduated from Branson High in 1991.

He spent his college years at the University of Missouri at Rolla where he was active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity. The friends he made there are still friends today.
After college, Max spent a few years in Springfield, Missouri. He bartended at Sir Gregory's and was voted Best Bartender in Springfield. This is where he married and had his daughter, Haleigh, the light of his life.

Eventually, he moved to Tulsa to fulfill the greatest dream of his, to be a pilot. He achieved that dream at Spartan School of Aeronautics. However, being a pilot meant being away from Haleigh. So instead, he became the Regional General Manager of Sky Tanking. His employees loved him, and he loved them.

Love defined Max's life. He loved his daughter, his mother, his family, his friends. He loved live concerts and went to as many as he could. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs long before they went to the Superbowl. He also loved the beach and spent many vacations on Florida's Gulf.

Max believed in women's rights, human rights, and animal rights. He donated to women's charities, advocated for fair treatment for minorities and treated all animals compassionately. To quote Max, "I believe that there's nothing Americans can't achieve if we work together instead of fighting each other. United We Stand. But to be united means we all have to find middle ground and compromise for the greatest good."
