Mary Juanita Morris

Mary Juanita (Melton) Morris passed away with loving family by her side on November 21, 2019, at the age of 82 years. Juanita was born on March 14, 1937 in Red Oak, OK to her parents, Marvin and Ellen (Gentry) Melton.

After graduating from Red Oak high school, Juanita moved to Tulsa where she met Jeff Delano Morris and they were married July 3, 1959 in Tulsa, OK. Juanita worked for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association until the birth of her first child.

She later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for a year; then worked for ten years as a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration. She then went into private counseling.

Juanita, the oldest of nine children, loved learning, reading, cake decorating, crocheting, and sewing; she was a very talented seamstress. Juanita loved God and shared that love with others. She raised her children in a Christian home, always encouraging people to better themselves, to set goals, and to work hard to achieve them. She was an excellent cook, known for her biscuits and chocolate gravy and her coconut cream pies. She enjoyed having family and friends over for meals and the holidays.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ellen; sisters, Marie, Margaret, and Faye; brother, Junior; grandson, Chase Morris; and loving husband, Jeff Morris.

Juanita leaves many loving memories with her family, daughter, Melissa (Russ) Howland, of Eagan, MN, son, Mark (Tracie) Morris, of Tulsa, son, Michael Morris; sister, Sue; brothers, Ray, Terry and Roger; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members. Juanita was a special lady who touched many people’s lives and hearts. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Viewing and visitation will be 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2019 at Buffington Cemetery with Ira “Buddy” Harris officiating.
