A Memorial Service will be held honoring and remembering the life of Martha "Fran' Francelle (Brasfield) Smith on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11AM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel with Gary Volz officiating. Fran passed away after a long battle on Monday, July 23, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 82.

She was born on August 19, 1935 to Rosa Esther (Peacock) and George Albert Brasfield in Tahoka, Texas. Fran was the youngest of five girls.

She was a 1953 graduate from Seminole Texas High School.

Fran was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Duke Manufacturing where she enjoyed her job and made many life-long friends and memories.

On July 6, 1979 she married the love of her life, John Paul Smith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They spent 39 blessed years enjoying life together.

Fran had a passion for writing. She wrote several short stories that were published in multiple magazines. In 1992, she took a creative writing class and during that time she started writing a novel about some of the life lessons she has learned throughout the years. In her later years, Fran and John enjoyed traveling to see friends and family in Texas, New Mexico and California. She was a lively, intelligent Texas girl. Fran was always offering her opinion even if you didn't want to hear it but she only did it because she cared. Her strong personality and heart got her through many hard times but always made sure to peruse happiness.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Tracy Robinson; her parents, Rosa Esther (Peacock) Brasfield and George Albert Brasfield and four sisters, Eva Laverne, Cordelia Helen, Billie Mavis and Ruth Evelyn.

Survivors include her loving husband, John Paul Smith; daughter, Tammy Bagby and her husband, Dale; five grandchildren, Angela Lynn Robinson, Troy Michael Robinson, Thomas Dylan Bagby, Andrea Ruth Robinson and Stephanie Hughes and her dog, Max.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Fran to ARF: Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 471483 Tulsa, OK 74147.
