Lucy Lee (Bailey) Howard passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at ManorCare in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Howard was born October 23, 1918 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Berian Bailey and Clevie (Brady) Bailey. Lucy graduated from high school in Louisiana and received a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. She worked as a teacher for Brighton Public Schools in Colorado for twenty-seven years before retiring. She married the love of her life, John Lelin Howard, on September 9, 1944 in Camp Rucker, Alabama.
Some of Mrs. Howard hobbies were oil painting, gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her family members.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents: Berian and Clevie Bailey along with her husband, John Lelin Howard who passed away in 1997.
Mrs. Howard is survived by her son: John Howard of Wildwood, Missouri; daughters: Jeanne Haggart of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England and Suzanne (Suzy) Prather of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lucy has five granddaughters: Sarah Haggart, Phoebe Bachura, Morgan Howard, Andrea Duke and Alicia Prather and five great grandchildren: Carter Bachura, Michael Duke,Kelsey Lee Duke, Graham Prather Long, Avery Prather Long and Dashill Prather Long.
Graveside services will be held at Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Missouri.
