Lisa Michelle Drye

December 8, 1959 — December 4, 2021

Lisa Michelle Drye, age 62, of Haskell, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 2, 2021 due to complications from chronic illness. Lisa was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended school at both Robertson and Remington elementary schools, and Clinton Junior High School in West Tulsa. She later obtained her GED and attended Tulsa Junior College.

Lisa married William Earl "Bill" Smith in 1978. In 1987 they settled in Haskell, Oklahoma, where they raised their two children, Scott and Heidi Smith. They owned and operated a roofing business for nearly 20 years, where they worked side-by-side, Lisa contributing in every way from writing bids, to tearing off old shingles. In her own words, "it was hot, hard, dirty work, but paid the bills".

She worked a short stint as a school bus driver for Haskell Public Schools, and as a CNC Machinist at UMI Machine shop in Haskell. Lisa also worked as a Cartographer/well spotter at Mapco in Tulsa, Oklahoma prior to the digital era of mapping. She excelled in this position which required extremely small, but precise and legible handwriting. Lisa was also an expert seamstress.

Most recently Lisa was a church pianist. She served as pianist in various churches from 1980 until her health deteriorated in recent years. She was a very talented pianist and her children have fond memories of her playing for them at home.

Siblings, cousins, children, and friends share many thoughts and memories of Lisa, including her big smile, antics of her wilder days, the exquisite beauty of her youth, and her undeniable quirkiness. As the saying goes, "they broke the mold when they made her". Lisa did not often conform to conventional constraints, which could be infuriating, but also made her the unique person we will all miss.

Lisa is survived by her children, Scott D. Smith and wife Jerrica, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Heidi M. Smith of Sapulpa; One brother, Mitchell (Ronnette) Drye of Mustang, Oklahoma; Sisters, Angela (Allan) Large of Beggs, Oklahoma, Guyla (Robert) Loughry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Terri Drye of Moore Oklahoma, Kristi (Shawn) Davies of Bixby, Oklahoma, Kari Del (Josh) McCarthy of Slick, Oklahoma; Step-Mother, Frankie Hagan Roberts of Moore, Oklahoma; Grandchildren Joey, Ashton, Alex, Olivia, and Avery; One aunt, Dana (Robert) Weiesnbach of Rockwall, Texas. Lisa is also survived by her beloved canine companion, Cassie, in addition to a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her Father, James Douglas Drye (1935-1994), and her Mother, Roberta Louise (Sager) Drye (1940-2011).

She was baptized at Oakridge Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lisa knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The family finds comfort knowing she is surrounded by His Glory for eternity, and shares the company of those love ones who have gone on before her.

A funeral service will be held at Oakridge Baptist Church, 6103 S 44th W Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Sunrise Cemetery, 16075 S 257th West Ave, Kellyville, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033. Family and friends may leave kind words of comfort, special memories and condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com
