Lavina Lee Jones

January 16, 1940 — April 15, 2020

Lavina Lee Jones, Catoosa resident, passed away with loving family by her side Wednesday evening, April 15, 2020, at the age of 80 years. Lavina was born on January 16, 1940, in Poteau, OK to her parents, Edgar and Lavina (Roden) Foote.

She met the love of her life, Herman ‘Dale’ Jones, and they were married on March 30, 1956, in Claremore, OK. Lavina worked for Kmart as a Customer Service Representative and Salesclerk. Lavina loved gardening, growing beautiful rose bushes and flowers. She was an avid reader; reading everything from romance novels to Louis Lamour. Her family described her as a hell of a cook; her cornbread dressing was to die for; she could do it all. Family members have fond memories of her making candy during the holidays... chocolate covered everything... from peanuts to cherries. Another treat that was a big hit was her divinity; however, she was most famous for her iced tea recipe. She loved listening to Vince Gill & Randy Travis.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 62 years, Dale Jones; her parents, Edgar and Lavina Foote, and daughter, Marie Barrett.
Lavina leaves many loving memories with her family, daughters, Diana (Ron) Kozicki, of Catoosa, Gayle Sanders — daughter, of Claremore; son, Dale (Carol) Jones, of New Caney, TX; sister, Shirley Crenshaw; brother, David Foote; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives along with a host of friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service & Cremation Care. Family and friends may leave kind words of comfort, special memories and condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com
