A funeral service will be held honoring and remembering the life of Karen Ann (Meese) Warner on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 at 11 AM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel with Revered Keith Fallis officiating. Karen passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 70.
Karen was born on April 10, 1948 in Sandusky, Ohio to Blanche and William Meese. She was raised in Ohio and was a 1966 graduate from Berlin Heights High School.
Shortly after graduation she met the love of her life, John Warner on State Street in Norwalk, Ohio. Together they started a family and eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1976.
Karen attended Tulsa Community College and then transferred to Langston University where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She also received her certification in primary and secondary education. She was employed with Tulsa Public Schools. She taught Pre-K for ten years at Mark Twain Elementary until she retired in 2014. She was the teacher that everyone wanted their child to have.
Karen had a green thumb that she loved to show off. She enjoyed spending her time tending to her flowers and succulents. She also had a love for thrift shopping and could always find the best deals. Karen had a pleasant and kind personality. Her patient and loving heart lead her to be passionate about many things during her life, especially her family.
She is preceded in death by her son, John L. Warner, Jr. (Johnny); her parents, Blanche Mildred (Scheck) Meese and William Daniel Meese; brother, William Meese and two sisters, Mary Lou Franklin and Barbara Jean Kurzen.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; three daughters, Angela Bax and her husband, Andrew, Nicole Shelley and her husband, Andrew, and Ashley Warner; grandchildren, Drew and Brittany Bax, Sydney Shelley, soon to be grandson, Dominyk, and her sister Sandy Smith.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 7, 2018 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service from 5 to 7 PM. Interment will take place after the service on Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
