Joy Gail Hachtmeyer

December 21, 1954 — January 26, 2023

Joy G. Hachtmeyer, 68, of Bixby, OK passed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord on January 26, 2023.

Joy was born in Ft. Smith, AR. on December 21, 1954, to the late Wilmer and Augusta Bankston. She was the beloved wife of Charles W. Hachtmeyer for 47 years and the devoted mother to Daughter Jennifer Johnson (Son-n-Love Matt) and Son Neil Hachtmeyer (Daughter-n-Love Jennifer).

In addition to her husband and children, Joy is survived by 4 grandchildren Timothy and Taylor Johnson, and Harlow and Hudson Hachtmeyer; sister Karen Gorman; brothers Timothy and Joey Bankston; nephew Kirt Bankston; niece Alicia Gorman; and many cousins and friends.

Joy will be fondly remembered for her laugh that tickled the heart, her sassy sense of style, and her firecracker personality. She loved the Lord faithfully and was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She taught us to love fiercely, and she was fiercely loved. She will be missed dearly.

Psalm 139:1, 5-12 (CJB)

For the leader. A psalm of David:

1 ADONAI, you have probed me, and you know me.

5 You have hemmed me in both behind and in front and laid your hand on me.

6 Such wonderful knowledge is beyond me, far too high for me to reach.

7 Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I climb up to heaven, you are there; if I lie down in Sh’ol, you are there.

9 If I fly away with the wings of dawn and land beyond the sea,

10 even there your hand would lead me, your right hand would hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Let darkness surround me, let the light around me be night,”

12 even darkness like this is not too dark for you; rather, night is as clear as day, darkness and light are the same.
