John Wayne Guthrie passed away on June 22, 2021, he was 64 years old.
John was born August 16, 1956 to Amos and Ruth (Boyer) Guthrie in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He married Sandra Wilson on April 13, 1991 and together they raised a beautiful family over the next thirty years. Family was the most important thing to John. He worked hard all of his life in the construction industry to support and provide for his wife and children. He spent the last several years working for Ark Wrecking. He was the one who always knew how to do anything on the job and was well-liked by his co-workers.
John enjoyed tinkering with computers, gaming, fishing and watching WWE, but what he loved most was spending time with his family and particularly the grand babies. He adored them and loved having them around.
John enjoyed watching old western shows and movies like Gunsmoke and not surprisingly, John Wayne, as they shared the same name. He liked to quote the Three Stooges, watching Star Trek and Smallville and classic rock music. He loved watching sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboys and OU football fan.
John was known for being silly at times but will be remembered as a gentle, hard-working, loyal, positive and loving person.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bob Guthrie and his brother-in-law Ken Mahoney.
John leaves behind many loving memories with his wife, Sandra, one son, Timothy Sharpe II (Trichia), and three daughters; Christy Rader, Angela Farmer (Jerry) and Stacie Hirsch, fourteen grandchildren; Bryanna Kirkpatrick, Alana Wood, Dylan Rader, Avery, Audrey and Andrew Farmer, Timothy Sharpe III, Jasmine, Jonelle and Johnathon Sharpe, Alexandra, Emily and Michael Hirsch, and Christian Clay as well as three great grandchildren; Brielle Kirkpatrick, Arielle Wood and Kriegho Brown, Jr., brothers; Don Guthrie (Judy), Ardell Guthrie (Brenda) and Ron Guthrie (Brenda), sisters; Shirley Mahoney and Karen Bridgeman (Wayne) and sister-in-law Marilyn Guthrie and many other relatives and a host of friends and co-workers.
