John David Clifton

April 15, 1952 — October 24, 2017

John David Clifton, 65, of Tulsa, OK, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 24th, at St John Medical Center. He was born on April 15, 1952 in Bakersfield, California to Clarice Lorene (Shadrick) and Carlos Eugene Clifton. He grew up in California before moving and completing his senior year of high school in Owasso, Oklahoma.

John met the love of his life, Pamela Sue (Heflin) Clifton, on a blind date. The two were married three months later, on May 30, 1981 in Broken Arrow, Ok. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during the Vietnam War. John retired from the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for over 36 years, working in many of the Tulsa offices.
He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union.

John was an avid collector of guns. He enjoyed target shooting with friends and buying them for his children. When his boys were younger, they enjoyed attending wrestling matches. He was a very proud father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Eugene Clifton.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela Sue Clifton of Tulsa, OK; mother, Lorene Clifton of Tulsa, OK; sons; Zachary Clifton, of Owasso, OK and Cole Clifton and wife, Shelby of Scottsdale, AZ; grandson, Carson Clifton; brother Steven Clifton and wife, Donna of Tulsa, OK; niece, Carla Clifton; nephew, Joseph Clifton; and many close friends.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care Centers. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
