Jim Ed Bluejacket

Born to Darrell and Carole Ruth (Newton) BlueJacket in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Jim Ed displayed a keen interest in climbing at an early age that would serve him well in his adult life. After graduating from Okmulgee High School in 1979, Jim Ed attended OSU Stillwater for a short time before embarking on different jobs that developed him into a jack of all trades and skills. He could fix anything and liked figuring out how things worked. For several years, Jim Ed was a pipefitter in the Houston, Texas oil refineries, climbing in and through pipes at heights, most people might be hesitant to try, but he excelled at it. His work ethic was flawless, and he made good friends throughout the years with his easy smile and helping hands.

Jim Ed enjoyed magic card tricks, good music, good food and motorcycles were his favorite. His faith and his family were his priorities, and his mom was his sidekick for many Sunday dinners at the Cornerstone Church in Okmulgee, where he was an active member for many years. His church family could always count on him for a cheerful word and encouragement.

Jim Ed was an awesome big brother to Vickie (BlueJacket) Beam, and Don Logan BlueJacket. When the three of them were together, there was always something going on. Between swimming in the creek or riding horses, the time spent outside during the summer will always hold great sibling memories. An avid diver, Jim Ed was always showing off his diving skills that neither sibling could begin to match. But there was no sibling rivalry between the three, their bond was tight.

Jim Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Robin BlueJacket, and grandparents, Opie and Vickie Johnson of Morris, Oklahoma and his father Darrell BlueJacket and his brother Don Logan BlueJacket. Jim Ed is survived by his loving mother Carole Ruth BlueJacket of Okmulgee and his sister, Vickie BlueJacket Beam and husband Tim; nieces and nephews, Tia Shelby and family, Blue Tarpalechee and family, Logan BlueJacket, Faith and Matt Sebring, Madison and Greg Caceres and Madalin Spencer.
