Jerry A Sherry

July 2, 1937 — December 27, 2018

Jerry Allan Sherry, also known as Papaw, from Broken Arrow, OK was born July 2nd 1937 in Tulsa, OK at Morningside Hospital (now Hillcrest) to Helen Cummings-Sherry and Robert Beckwith and later step-father Alan Sherry. He passed from this life on December 27th, 2018 at the age of 81.


Jerry worked as a silkscreen printer and graphic artist. Later, he was the owner/operator of ScreenFab. He was a man of many talents. He enjoyed photography, was skilled at automotive repair, and he was a jack of all trades. He could fix or make anything.


Jerry was happily married to the love of his life Shirley Ann on May 10,1957 and they were married for 61 years and 7 months.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara Buttram, and his brother Tommy Sherry.


Jerry is survived by wife Shirley Ann Sherry and their five children. Son Lonnie Sherry, wife Kelly, their children Dustin, wife Tara, Daniel, wife Lauren, Bethany, husband Mohit, and Luke. Daughter Stephanie Herron, husband Wayne, their children Adrienne, husband BJ, and Elizabeth. Daughter Robin Pearce, husband Steve, their children Lauren, husband TJ, Samantha, husband Ryan, and Morgan. Daughter Patti Fideline, husband Steve, and their children Michael and Katie. Daughter Melenda Knight, husband Scott, their children Travis, fiancé Lindsay, Grant and Lillie. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren Bradin, Maddie, Alicia, Diego, Luke, Mason, Drew, Beau, Hunter, Harry, Tristan and Declyn.


Jerry served as a Private 2nd Class in the Army for 2 years from 1957-1959, where he worked as an illustrator in the Nike Ajax Missile Program. He was stationed in Texas while serving his country. He and Shirley lived in Oklahoma, moved to Arkansas and then came back to Oklahoma where they raised their family in Broken Arrow; the place they called home for 48 years.


Jerry and Shirley were avid campers and enjoyed spending time at the lake, and visiting the Smokey Mountains. One of their greatest joys was when the children and grandchildren would bring their trailers to the lake and camp together. The Family was the focus of their world and his legacy will live through them.
