Janie B Thiry

Janie B. Thiry, age 88, passed away peacefully March 13, 2023. She was born May 11, 1934 in Lawrenceville Township, Illinois to Bonnie and Willie Eckiss.

Janie retired from St. John Hospital with 32 years of service as a registered nurse. Her passion was in the fine arts where she showed her talents as a china painter. She was a member of WOCP and held many offices with Tulsa Oil Capital China Painters for over 3 decades.

She was married to Walter A. Thiry Jr. for 67 years. Preceding Janie in death were her parents, an infant sister, and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Walter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother Benny Eckiss of Portland, Oregon; two sisters: Barbara Kimbrel of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Dianne Angle of Lawrenceville, Illinois and sister-in law Bobbie Eckiss of Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with three children Chris Thiry of Montgomery Alabama, Mark Thiry and Renee Thiry of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grand children Shawn English, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Misty (Jeff) Wilcox Montgomery, Alabama and 8 great-grand-children as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 to 6 PM at the Schaudt's Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm. Friday March 17 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa in the chapel with Pastor Shelby Scott officiating.
