Janice Jean Tiefenthaler

October 31, 1946 — December 18, 2020

A Mass to honor and celebrate the life of Jan Tiefenthaler will be 10:00am Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited 6:00PM Tuesday evening at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. Janice Jean Millenacker Tiefenthaler, age 74, of Tulsa Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Jan was born October 31, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Carroll, Iowa and graduated from Kuemper Catholic School. Janice married and eventually became a long-term resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a devoted parent to her five children, “grammer” to her six grandchildren and a beloved friend to so many. She was a member of the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church where she loved singing in the choir and playing handbells. She was known by her family and friends as the most thoughtful, caring, and generous person. She was always thinking of others first, was always smiling, and loved with her whole heart.


Those left to cherish her many memories include her brother James Millenacker and sister-in-law LaJean of Carroll Iowa, her son Andrew Tiefenthaler and daughter in law Alicia, her son Martin Tiefenthaler, her daughters Laura Knoll and Lynn Tiefenthaler, grandchildren Avery, Gabriel, Jack, Liam, Asher, and Alexander, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Josephine Millenacker, her daughter Sara Tiefenthaler, and her son in law Edgar Knoll.


Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, Iowa on Tuesday December 29, 2020 with a celebration of life to be held at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Janice to Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma or Clarehouse.
