Janice Ann Young

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Janice Ann (Ayres) Young will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11 AM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service with Gary Volz officiating. Janice passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in her home. She was 79.

Jan was born October 24, 1938 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lavada C. (Ables) Ayres and Ernest E. Ayres. She was a 1956 graduate from Madill High School and became a member of a life-long group of friends known as the "Chix of 56" group. Jan continued her education after high school at Oklahoma State University.

In 1997 Jan moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was employed at Gibbs & Armstrong Law Office as an Executive Secretary and Office Manager for 23 years. She absolutely loved her job and was very good at it. Her commendable work earned herself a dream vacation on The Gaither Gospel Cruise.

Jan loved to shop and was a fashionable lady who always liked to look nice. Her love for interior decorating was very evident in her home and lead to frequent invitations from friends to come hang pictures and arrange furniture. Jan loved listening to music that glorified God. Some of her favorites were Gaither music, B.J. Thomas and Elvis. She was even lucky enough to visit Graceland. Even though she attended Oklahoma State University she was a huge Oklahoma University fan. Jan always offered a lending hand, and always had a great attitude towards life. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavada C. (Ables) Ayres and Ernest E. Ayres and her brother, Mike Ayres.

Survivors include her son, Stu Young and his wife, Tracey; daughter, Stacey Cook and her husband, Keith; and their father, Dale Young. She also leaves four grandchildren, Reagan Young, Nikki Young, Amanda Cook and Crissy Cook.
