Howard Edmond Griffith

August 1, 1946 — October 12, 2020

Howard Edmond Griffith passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday Evening, Oct 12, 2020 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was a Father, Brother, Son, Grandpa and Great Grandpa - born in August of 1946. He lived a life of true selflessness. Never asking for himself, but always there to help when others were in need. He was not a rich man when it comes to money, but his wealth knew no bounds when it came to acts of service to help the common person and those he called friend or family. He was the guy you could call day or night with an issue and he would head over to help you work it out.

As Howard liked to put it, he was “Happily Married For 46 Years to The Love Of His Life, Karri”. She has been waiting on him to join her and their son Dewayne in heaven for some time now. He was a good father, true friend, and key mentor in his son’s lives. He gave his family a life that overflowed with true love, authentic caring and real compassion.

Howard is survived by his sons Andy and Mike, his siblings Jimmy and Willa, 4 grandchildren Sean, Ryan, Cheryl and Adeline, and 3 great grandchildren.

He was skilled in mechanics and woodcrafts, spending many weekends working on cars of his, friends and family. He would craft Christmas decorations out of wood for the holidays for the neighbors where we grew up. He was a black coffee lover who could somehow have a cup before bed and even on hot summer days in between mowing the front and backyards. He enjoyed classic rock music, playing cards and dominos, watching boxing with his wife on weekends, and was known for his Saturday morning breakfast spread by the neighborhood kids. It didn’t matter if you were his child or not, he had a plate there for you. He was in the Army reserve for 10 years repairing tanks and spent 23 years working as a printing press operator. There were times he brought home paper reels with cartoon characters on them for us kids to draw and write on. He taught and led by example the value of having a solid work ethic and how one should live a moral upstanding life.

His final wishes were to be carried out in the same way and place his wife Karri was done and we have honored those wishes.
