Frank Ray Floyd

Frank Ray Floyd was born February 16, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Oscar Frank Floyd and Gladys Mae Lunow Floyd. He passed from his life peacefully, at his home, in the early morning hours January 21, 2018. Frank’s childhood was spent in various small towns in Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma. After moving to Oklahoma City, he graduated from Southeast High school in 1967. He served four years in the US Navy, as a Radarman (RD3/Petty Officer 3rd Class) on the USS Hancock. He loved his time of military service and cherished his many memories. Frank was an ironworker before beginning his career with Southwestern Bell and retired in 2001. He volunteered for Habitat of Humanity; drove a school bus for Broken Arrow Public Schools for a couple of years, worked with retired SWBT/ATT friends in Chicago for three years. Frank also worked for Marc Miller Buick/GMC. Frank married Deborah Karen Giles of Oklahoma City, on January 4, 1980. They were blessed celebrating 38 years of marriage January 4 of this year. Frank and Debbi moved several times with the phone company; Oklahoma City, Enid, St. Louis and Tulsa.

Frank is survived by his wife, Debbi; son, Michael Dean Floyd and Nikki of Chantilly, VA. Their children are Aidan Floyd, Taylor Park and Madison Park. Also survived by son, Christopher Scott Floyd and Jen of Seattle, WA. Their children are Ethan Floyd, Avery Davis and Scarlett Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Floyd. He leaves behind cherished friends who blessed his life in many ways.

Frank loved his children and grandchildren and cherished receiving gifts and cards from “The Floyd Boys”. He loved riding the roads with Debbi on their motorcycle. He loved hot rods, music (especially blues), his country. He enjoyed fellowship with his many friends and acquaintances. He was a man of faith and thanked God for the gift of life everyday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to a charity of your choice or to A.R.F of Tulsa, American Heart Association, Habitat for Humanity or Disabled Veterans.

Memorial Service will be held at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Chapel – 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa at 2:00pm Friday, January 26, 2018. At 3:30pm family and friends will be gathering at McNellie’s South City – 7031 S. Zurich Ave. where a final toast will be said in Frank’s honor.
