Francisco Chale

March 1, 1943 — September 29, 2021

Francisco Chale went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at the age of 78 years old. He passed from this life at Sand Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, after living with Alzheimer's for 3 years.

He was born on March 1, 1943, in Motul, Yucatan, Mexico to German Chale and Anastasia Chale Canche. His father served as a mayor ("presidente municipal") in Motul, Yucatan, where Francisco was raised. He came to the U.S. at the age of 17, completed a G.E.D., and then continued his education through a 4-year seminary program from the Church of the Nazarene. The last two years of theological studies were completed in Manhattan and that's where he met his wife, Ita Colon Miranda. They married on December 13, 1969, and were married for 45 years before her passing.

He leaves behind three children: Carlos, David, and Raquel. He also leaves behind 5 beautiful grandchildren: Ariana, Joel, Elena, Veronica and Gabriel.

Francisco was a pastor of several Spanish churches in California for over 20 years. He was also a chaplain at a maximum-security prison in California, and he worked as the Justice of the Peace, when he lived in Motul, Yucatan, while serving with his family as a missionary for two years.

Francisco loved to travel and share the gospel of the good news. Francisco had a great sense of humor, always took his family on vacations, and made the best Mexican dishes. He loved life, laughing, serving his community, and he genuinely loved people.

In Francisco's honor, his family asks that donations be made to Tulsa Day Center, where he worked and made a difference. By following the link, please enter "In honor of Francisco Chale" in the donation notes.
