Evelyn Faye Peden

August 9, 1929 — July 21, 2020

Evelyn Faye Beasley Harkey Peden, known as “Billie” to her friends and family, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 90 years old. She was met in Heaven by her first husband, Ira Delmon Harkey, her son, Wendell Neil Harkey, and many other family members. She was born on August 9, 1929 in McCamey, Texas to Annie Nicholas and Lewis Beasley. She was raised by her loving mother and stepfather, Annie and L. T. Glover. Mom lived in many different places throughout her life, and attended Alpine High School in Alpine, Texas. It was there that she met Ira Delmon Harkey. They were married on October 15, 1947. Together they made their home in Monahans, Texas and raised their 4 children, Delmon, Wendell, Jackie, and Darla. Dad passed away in 1981. She married Thomas K. Peden on January 14, 1983. Together, Tommy and Mom have celebrated 37 years of marriage. Tommy not only became her husband, but he has been a father to her 4 children. Tommy was always at Mom’s side giving her the care she needed. Mom was very proud of her 4 children, and, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always interested and supportive in every endeavor we had. Mom worked for Ward County Courthouse for 8 years in order to help support the family during our dad’s rehabilitation from an oilfield accident overseas. After Dad passed away, she went to work for First State Bank in Monahans and continued her work there for 8 years. In 1992, Mom and Tommy moved to Tulsa, OK where they made their home until her death.

Mom was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Delmon Harkey, her son, Wendell Neil Harkey, her parents L.T. and Annie Glover as well as her brother, Jack Beasley, and sister, Wilma Nell Ford. She is survived by her husband, Thomas K. Peden of Tulsa, OK; sons, Delmon Harkey and wife, Jane, of Georgetown, TX; Jackie Harkey and wife, Judy, of Odessa, TX; daughter, Darla Presley and husband, Dave, of Tulsa, OK, and Christine Peden Barry and husband, Rich, of Euless, TX . Also, by 8 grandchildren, Chris Harkey and wife, Tina; Kim Hubnik and husband, Derek; Holly Fausett and husband, Shawn; Jeff Harkey and wife, Angel; Brian Presley, Amy West, and Kylie and August Barry. She was the proud GiGi to 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
