Esther Colleen Hulett

Esther Colleen Hulett passed away Tuesday evening, April 14, 2020, at the age of 87 years old. Colleen was born on February 17, 1933, in Eakly, OK to Clarence and Myrtle (Scott) Meadows.

She met Thomas Lee Hulett while attending OSU, and they married on July 10, 1953. From this union, two children were born, Kevin Lee and Michael Shawn. Colleen was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker until the children were in full-time school. At that time, she attended the University of Tulsa and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education. Colleen spent her 30+ year career teaching elementary students in the Tulsa Public Schools.

Colleen liked to read and paint. She gardened throughout her life; growing all types of plants, flowers, and vines; she particularly loved rose bushes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Glenn, and her husband, Tom.

She is fondly remembered by her two sons, Kevin Hulett and wife, Kari of Tulsa; Mike Hulett of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Aubrey Hulett of Tulsa, Jesse Hulett of Okmulgee, and Alex Hulett of Tulsa; two great-grandchildren, Gracey and Gavin; her two sisters, Carolyn Yearwood of Hydro and Susan Moreu of Noble; also by several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
