Elli Spak

May 8, 1938 — November 15, 2021

Elli (Kind) Spak of Sand Springs, OK, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the age of 83.

Elli was born to Halina (Gryne) Kind and Otto Kind in Łodz, Poland, on May 8, 1938. Her early childhood was rocked by very traumatic events, as her country was invaded by the Germans in 1939. During the War her family endured little food, destruction, and the deaths of many dear loved ones. Her family immigrated to Rochester, New York, in 1952. She began attending school and learning to speak English when she arrived in the United States. It was the education she received as a young child, learning to sew, that would be her real calling and life's work. Elli married her husband Alex Spak in Chicago, Illinois, in 1956. They went on to have two beautiful daughters that have many fond memories of family vacations to state parks, trips to the beach, visits to their grandparent's home in Chicago, and grandparents in Rochester, New York. When Elli was very young, she had memories of very little food to eat, so she grew a garden and canned vegetables. She was artistic and very creative, once making herself a pair of lamps during the 1960's and painting a tree mural in their new home. Elli worked as a seamstress most of her adult life and had a tailoring business out of her home when her children were young. After the death of her husband, Elli moved back to Rochester, New York and moved in with her parents. She worked, volunteered, and began attending a German Baptist Church with her parents. With everything Elli endured, she never lost her loving and caring spirit. For the past ten years, while she was in better health, she first lived with her youngest daughter, Helen. She attended church faithfully. For the last 5 years she lived with her eldest daughter, Lily, where she found a new church and went to the Senior Citizen Center three times a week, until she was unable when her health declined. Elli will be missed immensely but has been reunited with her loved ones for eternity.

Elli is preceded in death by her parents, Halina and Otto Kind, younger brother, Walter Kind, husband, Alex Spak, and many other loving family members in and from Poland.

She is survived by her daughters, Lily Radloff, Helen Dubovik and husband Daniel, grandchildren, Stephanie L. Lewis and husband Ian, Fredrich M. Radloff, Chrisondra S. Gray, Daniel R. Dubovik, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many more loving family and caring friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Her final resting place will be with her family in Rochester, New York.

Arrangements entrusted to Schaudt Funeral Service, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033. Family and friends may leave their condolences and kind words @schaudtfuneralservice.com
