Eleanore Lois Powell

A funeral service honoring and remembering the life of Lois (Martin) Powell will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 3 PM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Lois passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was 75.

Lois was born December 2, 1942 in Fayetteville, West Virginia to Arldeana (Bragg) Martin and Lacy Martin.

In 1960 she graduated from Fayetteville High School in West Virginia. Shortly after graduation she moved to Oklahoma to be near her brother.

In 1964, Lois met Kenneth Powell in Oklahoma City and on April 16, 1965.

She attended Tulsa Votech and received her dental assistance certificate.

Lois was famous for numerous of things. She crocheted, cooked and baked like a professional. She will always be remembered for the Southern Fried Chicken and Coconut Cream Pie. Lois had a magnetic personality. She never met a stranger and could hold a conversation with anyone. Her true passion was being a loving mother and wife. She was the definition of a true homemaker.

Lois was a member for the Mayo PTA when her children were in school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arldeana (Bragg) Martin and Lacy Martin, and brother, JR Martin.

Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth Powell; daughters, Angie Chappa and her husband, Scott, and Jennifer Powell; brother, Joe Martin and his wife, Gail; and sister-in-law, Erika Martin.

Viewing will be held, Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6 PM - 8 PM at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Lois Powell to the Tulsa Chapter of SPCA.
