Edward William Torrey

Edward William Torrey, a resident of Henryetta, passed away July 24, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 99 years. He was born April 10, 1911 in Evans Center, New York to Franklin & Louise Torrey. He worked as a saw sharpener and was a member of the United States Navy serving in WWII. Ed was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW. He is survived by wife Barbara Torrey of the home, son Eddie Torrey of Springfield, MO, sister Alberta Bentham of Lewiston, ID, grandchildren Debbie Richardson, Becky Wells, Stefanie Taylor, and Mike Pulliam, nephew Billy Bentham, nieces Roberta Dake and Sally Giambrone, 6 great-grandchildren as well as numerous other friends and relatives. Ed was preceded in death by his wives, Rose Torrey and Epta Torrey and one daughter Louise Pulliam. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home of Henryetta from 10:00am – 8:00pm. Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Brother Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home. Friends may sign guestbook and leave condolences at www.shurdenjackson.com.
