Edward Joe Veazey

Edward Joe Veazey age 82, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at his residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a short illness.
Joe was born to Gaston and Pearl Veazey November 18, 1925 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Several years later the family moved to Shamrock, Texas. World War II caught up with him and he served in the United States Air Force as a tail gunner on a B24. The plane was shot down over Italy and with the help of partisans, Joe made his way to Switzerland and eventually back to the States.
Joe went to Texas Tech University. Four years later he graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and headed to Pampa, Texas where he went to work for Kewanee Oil Company in 1949. He worked in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas oil fields. He retired in 1991.
While in Pampa, Texas he met and married Norma Parks on October 15, 1950. Norma is the daughter of Fred and Josephine Parks.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years: Norma Veazey of Tulsa; his son: Joe of Houston; two daughters: Susan Rose of Tulsa; Kathleen (Katy) Cook of Mounds. He enjoyed eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service for Joe will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Mounds, Oklahoma.
