Edmund Grant Hepner

Edmund Hepner, age 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away June 19, 2019. He was born March 1, 1929, in Freedom, Oklahoma, to Arthur Allen Hepner and Pluma Nash Hepner.

Ed was dedicated to helping on the farm in Freedom. After he graduated from high school he pursued his education at N.W. Jr. College in Alva, Oklahoma.

He interrupted his education to devote most of his life to 30 years in the USAF. Ed served in the Korean War, flying the Sabre Fighter F-86, receiving a Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. He continued his career in the USAF becoming Commander of the squadron at the Tulsa Air National Guard until 1968. He then was employed by Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle, Washington, ending his career as chief instructor pilot for Boeing. Ed flew the Boeing 727-767, setting records and traveling the world, while making many friends. After retirement he and his beloved wife, Aggie moved to Moses Lake, Washington, enjoying golf, fishing, and travelling. Much of their time was spent with their family and enjoying the grandchildren. He and Agnes enjoyed 50 years of marriage, raising four children. Aggie passed in 1999.

Ed is survived by: his loving wife, Diana Orman Hepner, with whom he had 17 years of fun, loving, adventurous life together; children, Dennis Hepner (Susie), Douglas Hepner (Tracey), Gen. Michael Hepner (Alicia), and Tami Mullin (Randy); step-children, Sheryl Donaldson (Mike), Shelly Lawson (Kevin), and Scott Johnson (Martinique); siblings, Lila Parker, Jerry Hepner, and Bill Hepner; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bob Hepner.

A celebration of life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in the chapel, with Rev. Guy Ames officiating. A reception will be held at Asbury following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project, The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, or the charity of the donor's choice.
