Doyle Wade Ray

Wednesday morning, September 4, 2019, Doyle W. Ray passed away at the age of 82.
Doyle was born on February 21, 1937 in Vian, Oklahoma to Arvin and Loretta Ray. After graduating from Vian High School he entered the United States Navy. While stationed in Sasebo, Japan he met his wife Hideko Tabaru. He served in the Vietnam War aboard the USS William H Standley. He retired from the navy as a senior chief in 1977 and moved his family back to Vian, Oklahoma where he and Hideko raised two sons, David and Roger.

Doyle had a passion for playing the guitar and singing. He also enjoyed being on Lake Tenkiller, where you could find him most every weekend enjoying friends and family on his pontoon boat. He was smart and funny, and always eager to lend a helping hand.

Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Hideko, his father, Arvin, his mother, Loretta, his sister, Lois Stanley, his granddaughter, Kelsey Parker, and his great-granddaughter, Delilah Parker.

Survivors include his son David Ray and wife Rachel, of Pueblo, Colorado; son Roger Ray and wife Kyndol, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers Donald Ray and Duwayne Ray; sister Lola Madewell; grandson, JD Ray; granddaughter, Waverly Ray; great-granddaughter Lillian Parker; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A private memorial celebration of life will be held in Grove, Oklahoma at a date to be determined.
