Dorothy M Kaiser

November 21, 1925 — November 23, 2021

Dorothy (Dot) Mae Kaiser was born November 21st 1925 in Beggs, Oklahoma to William Frank and Aurah Garrison. She lived in Okmulgee until recently moving to Colonial Park Nursing Home in Okemah where she passed away November 23rd, 2021 . She had been struggling with dementia for several years.

She had just been able to celebrate her 96th birthday with her relatives whom she adored. Dorothy owned and ran Vic's Petshop successfully for over 30 years on her own after her husband passed away. She was known as Mrs. Vic to her customers. She also had a pet goose named Charlie as a loyal watch/guard. He has survived her and has a new home. Her friend Katherine Todd also helped out on occasion.

She spent her childhood in Oklahoma and attended college in Ada. After graduation she moved to Fresno, Ca. where she met and married Victor Kaiser. They then moved to San Francisco where their daughter Vicki was born. They lived in the Bay Area for several years. She worked at Zurich Insurance, Aetna Insurance and Bechtel Corporation until moving back to Oklahoma in 1976. She helped several friends and relatives get jobs over the years.

On returning to Oklahoma she worked at the Court House before opening the pet shop.
Dorothy was a longtime member of Lakeview Church where she met her church family, Pastor and longtime friend Tommy Laxton. She loved the Lord and always had time for anyone who needed a listening ear, help or a prayer. She loved reading, especially her Bible until her eyesight failed. She also loved to sing hymns.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband of 35 years Victor and sister Bonnie Thomas and her husband Mack. She is survived by her daughter Vicki Dietrich and much adored son-in-law John of Tracy,Ca. and her cherished grandson Steven. Her two brothers Roy F. Garrison of Florida and E. Ray Garrison and her special sister-in-law Lois of Okmulgee along with many nieces and nephews and their families. Some of them were able to be with her at the end and help with her care. Tommy and Gina Brandt and Anne Crosby were especially supportive. She loved and cherished them all.

Her at home caregivers Pam, Sharon and Peggy took great care of her prior to her moving to Colonial Park and we thank the caring staff there as well. Her brother Ray was also there whenever she needed him. Dorothy had a big heart for such a little woman and was admired and respected by her family and friends and will be extremely missed.
