Doris Condrey Davis

October 7, 1926 — November 4, 2017

Doris Condrey Davis, a native of Okmulgee, OK passed away in Lafayette, LA on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Doris was born to Newton Condrey and Ruth Gouge Condrey, on October 7, 1926. She was born and reared in Okmulgee with her three sisters: Janice Condrey Altstatt, Dezzie Condrey Wares, and Doris’ twin sister, Dorothy Condrey Hurst.

She married Clyde Junior Davis, also of Okmulgee, in 1948 and moved with him to Oklahoma City, OK. After several years there, they then moved to Denver, CO as they followed his career in broadcasting. After his retirement, they lived a number of years in Taos, NM before relocating to Lafayette, LA in the early 1990’s to be closer to family.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, her parents, two older brothers (before she was born), and all of her sisters. She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews who loved her and will always remember the joyfulness with which she greeted them and the love she had for them.

A clothing designer, animal lover, devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Doris had the heartiest laugh and cutest smile around. Her family is relieved for her that her long illness has come to an end and her wait for peace is over. She was loved and will always be remembered.

A private family service will be held at Okmulgee Cemetery on Friday, November 17, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
