Donald Dean Saunders

A memorial service and reception to honor the Life of Don Saunders will be 3:00pm Tuesday,December 11, 2018 at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. Don passed away at The Claremore Veteran Center on December 5th, 2018, he was 69.

Don was born May 31, 1949 in Huntington Park, California to Jack B Saunders and Carol E (Quick) Saunders. Don honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He married his wife of 45 years Mi Ling on March 3, 1973 in Lyons, KS

Don worked primarily as a retail manager for Alco, TG&Y, and Radio Shack. They both ventured into their own businesses including Mi Ling’s Bath Boutique in Santa Barbara, California. In 1992 Don and Mi Ling owned and successfully operated two different Subway Sandwich Shops at Eastland Mall and The Farm Shopping Center together.

Don was liked by all and loved by many. He was known for his gentle demeanor and goofy sense of humor. He had a genuine ability to get along with anyone he met. He loved watching movies together at home with Mi Ling and was an avid golf fan. He loved traveling with Mi Ling and took several trips back to Hong Kong, where they met, to visit some of their favorite spots.

He was preceded in death by his father Jack B Saunders

Survivors include: his mother Carol E Saunders, wife: Mi Ling Saunders, son and wife Allen and Natalie Saunders, daughter and husband Michele and Mitch Hall, grandchildren Chloe, Emily, Aiden, and Alex, Siblings: Jack Saunders, Ron Saunders, Jonell Blackwood, Karen Schultz, and Cynde Goertzen along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
