Conner Thomas Day

On Sunday morning January 24, 2021, Conner Thomas Day, 21, passed away in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Conner was born July 8, 1999, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the first child of Christopher William and Ginger LeAnn (Middleton) Day. He attended Eliot Elementary and Cascia Hall Preparatory School. Conner was a student at the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was baptized as an infant and participated in several youth mission trips while growing up. The relationships that were forged during those trips were everlasting.

Smart, kind, and creative, Conner was active as an artist and musician. His appreciation for the arts was a constant throughout his life. He embraced, appreciated and truly felt music, especially the Grateful Dead. His own artwork was expressed through pencil, charcoal, oil paint, photography and other disciplines. Among his musical talents were playing guitar and creating beats that he sold during high school. While in Fayetteville, he designed artwork for screen-printed apparel for Voyce, a vintage resale company that he and his friends established.

Conner started as a timid child that grew into a man who cherished new experiences; living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment. Conner loved skiing and traveling, especially the many visits he made throughout the years to his family’s cabin near Gunnison, Colorado. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and shooting guns. A treasured gift Conner received was a compass charm that his parents gave him last Christmas. It symbolized his love for adventure and being able to find his way back home, his “True North”.

Conner had many special loves in his life. Among them were Labrador Retrievers; his family was rarely without one. Conner and his mother shared a particular fondness for cardinals, a bird that held special meaning for both of them. In fact, they both had tattoos of cardinals, as an expression of their connection to the bird. Conner loved outrageous clothes, enjoying the humor in them. He was known to have an impressive collection of Grateful Dead t-shirts he amassed with a keen eye for thrifting. With ease, Conner could slip into characters using various voices and mannerisms.

Conner was a truly amazing, genuine, unique, gentle soul with a great sense of humor that was reflected through his infectious smile. He was kind and authentic; a friend to everyone he met, making everyone around him feel happy and involved. Conner knew how to make you laugh and help when you were sad. His clever wit would sneak up on you. It was a joy to be in his company.


Conner is preceded in death by grandfather, Joseph (Jed) Day Jr; grandparents, Karen and Doug Keffer; grandfather, Gary Middleton; great-grandmother, Dorothy Funkhouser and great-grandmother, Violet Thomas (Nana) and his uncle, Jay Thomas Middleton.

He is survived by his parents Chris and Ginger (Middleton) Day; brothers, Griffin and Gunnison; grandmother, Leslie Day; uncle, Robert Day (wife Stephanie and children Joseph and Bobby); uncle, Jeff Keffer (wife Donna and children Madeline and Wiley); aunt, Kathy Pitcock (husband Scott and children Carter, Stratton, and Frankie); aunt, Tracey Jennings (husband Mike and children Mallory and Holden); and his beloved black Lab, Molly.

Conner was a cherished, much-loved son, brother, and friend to those who knew him. He will be dearly missed. Conner was a light in the lives of so many people. May Conner’s light continue to shine.

Memorial Service will take place on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave. The church requires masks be worn at all times and seating will be every other pew. Please honor the church’s request to socially distance and avoid congregating inside the building before or after the service.
