Clyde Junior O'Dell

Clyde Junior “Son” O’Dell was born on March 16, 1940 at home in Oglesby, Oklahoma to Sarah Elizabeth “Pete” and George O’Dell. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2013.

Son was an original cowboy. He like to shoot guns, ride horses, collect knives, hunt animals, and watch every “Uncle John” Wayne movie ever made. He was a tough, stubborn teddy bear with a heart as big as an Oklahoma prairie. If he loved you...you knew it! (And if he didn’t - you knew that too.) His laugh was ever present. His big, strong hands will be remembered by all.

Although he was an exceptional welder, his greatest accomplishment was becoming a Dad. He did his best raising two kids, taking on the challenges of having an instant family. He succeeded where many others fail. Son was a devoted husband to his wife, Sharon “Charlie”. They had a true and deep love that survived all the obstacles that life presents. Not to be sappy, but they truly did complete one another.

Son is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Pate; father, George O’Dell; step-father - Tony Pate; niece - Janna Guest; nephews - Chris O’Dell, Troy Kyle.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon E. O’Dell of Glenpool; son - Joe (Rita) Casey of Jenks; daughter - Julie (Paul) Stanley of Warsaw, VA; brother - Bill (Jo) O’Dell of Skiatook; sisters - Shirley (Curt) Brown of Collinsville, Ivy (Don) Brown of Collinsville, Georgia (Bob) Magers of Collinsville, Debbie (Rowdy) Trotter of Skiatook; grandchildren - Justin Casey & MaKayla Casey of Jenks, Katie Morgan of Cleveland, GA, Sarah “Nikki” Normandia of Gap, GA, Jade Casey, Jacob Stanley, Jordyn Stanley, & Joshua Stanley of Warsaw, VA; great-grandsons - Jaycen & Tanner Casey-Rose of VA, Carter Morgan & Ava Morgan of GA, Emma Normandia of GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his furry kids, Hannah & Gus.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Schaudt’s Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, OK

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Schaudt’s Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, OK with Chaplain Jim Dodd, officiating.
