Cheryl Lynn Smith

August 5, 1948 — June 8, 2018

A memorial service will be held honoring and remembering the life of Cheryl Lynn (Allred) Smith on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11 AM at South Broken Arrow Baptist Church, with Pastor Guy Langston officiating. Cheryl passed away June 8, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 69.

Cheryl was born on August 5, 1948 in Anadarko, OK. She was the daughter of Winifred Marilyn (Riley) Allred and Charles T. Allred. The family lived in Midwest City, OK. In 1966 she graduated from Midwest City High School and later moved to Tulsa to start her adult life.

On February 3, 1990, Cheryl married the love of her life, Rex Smith, at Indian Springs Country Club in Broken Arrow, OK. They have spent over 28 years living and loving life together.

She was employed as a Legal Administrator and in Human Resources at various companies. In 2005 Cheryl decided it was time to retire and enjoy her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

With an outgoing personality, there was never a time Cheryl couldn't find someone to talk to. Her appearance and happiness shined through; it was something Rex thought was so cute about her. She was an avid bridge player and a good one, too. Cheryl was often called to play as a partner because they knew she would give them an upper hand. She really enjoyed spending time at the lake and camping with Rex in their camper. While at the lake, you could often find Cheryl fishing, boating, and relaxing by the water. Her home garden was picture perfect and she loved the time she spent tending to her plants. Out of all the hobbies and interests Cheryl had, spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. She will always be remembered by the ones that loved her most.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rex Smith; children, Derek Lester, Julie Hawksworth and her husband, Mathieu, and Graham Smith and his wife, Victoria. She also leaves her parents, Charles T. Allred and Winifred Marilyn (Riley) Allred; grandchildren, Katie, Derek Michael, Christine, Lillian and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Kaley and Harper; and a brother, Terry (Butch) Allred.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Cheryl Smith to the Clarehouse; 7617 S. Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
