Charles E. Schaeffer

March 29, 1938 — January 18, 2015

Charles Earl Schaeffer passed away at his Tulsa residence on January 18, 2015. He was born March 29, 1938 in Fremont, IN to Gilbert and Helen (Hellinger) Schaeffer. Charles grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1957. Charles served his country honorably in the U. S. Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He married Mary Jean Mundy on October 15, 1960 in Fremont. Charles was retired from Samson Resources where he worked in data processing. Charles and his wife have operated The Apple Tree, Inc. since 2006.

Charles enjoyed woodworking and was always doing something with his hands. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was a member of Millennium Masonic Lodge #543 and the Akdar Shrine in Tulsa. Charles loved his family dearly.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister: Jeannette Wilcox. He is survived by his wife: Mary Jean Schaeffer; his son: Christopher Schaeffer and his wife Sandra; his daughter: Judith Carroll and her husband Tommy; his grandchildren: Nikki, Ashley, Thomas, Ryan, Emily; and one great-grandchild Christopher; his sisters: Delores Vice and her husband Kenneth, Carolyn Coney and her husband Roger; his brother: Robert Schaeffer and his wife Amielou.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be directed to Saint Francis Hospice or the Akdar Shriner's Transportation Fund. A visitation celebrating Charles' life is scheduled for 2:00-5:00 PM Saturday at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park.
