Carol Rae Blair

August 10, 1940 — January 26, 2020

Carol Rae Clark Blair passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, in Tulsa, OK at the age of 79 years. Carol was born on August 10, 1940 in Kismet, KS to her parents, Hobart and Geneva (Minger) Clark. She graduated Kismet High in 1958 and went on to Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, OK, graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Music Education. It was at Panhandle A&M that Carol met Robert Blair whom she married on August 10, 1963, and divorced in 1983.

Carol's life was filled with music. Her lifelong career as a music educator began in 1962 in Elkhart, KS then to Copeland, KS in 1964. The family moved to Tribune, KS in 1970 where Carol taught elementary music for Greeley County Schools until her retirement in 1995. Her school Christmas musical programs were beloved by the community and Carol always considered Tribune as her "home town." On retirement from teaching in Kansas, she moved to Hitchita, OK to be closer to family. She taught briefly at Webbers Falls, OK and Dewar, OK before finally retiring from teaching in 1998. Carol was a wonderful piano player, and enjoyed sharing this gift not only as a teacher, but also in the many churches she attended throughout her life. She especially loved gospel music, and was always happy to play an old gospel tune, especially if you were willing to sing along.

Carol is preceded in death by Hobart Clark (father), Geneva Clark (mother), and James Clark (brother).

Carol leaves many loving memories with her family: daughters Carla Blair and husband Walter of Morris, OK; Amy Millirons and husband Richard of Tribune, KS; sons David Blair and wife Catherine, of Sand Springs, OK; Randall Blair and wife Polly of Lenexa, KS; sister Leah Layman of Checotah, OK; grandchildren Makayla Burtt, Zoe Blair, Connor Urlaub, Theodore Blair, Clark Blair, Tyler Dean, and Gage Millirons; great-grandchildren Evelyn Burtt and Samwell Burtt; along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
