Carol Ann Miyata

December 8, 1947 — January 29, 2019

Carol passed away from complications due to cancer on January 29th, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Born in Seattle Washington to Gerald and Ruth Buchenroth on December 8th, 1947. Carol always had a love for adventure and travel, and joined the Lutheran church's ministry outreach where she travelled to Japan to teach conversational English. While in Japan she married and soon thereafter returned to the states and moved to New York City for the birth of her son Chris.

Life's journey then brought her to Norcross, Georgia where she lived until 1984. Life changes then led her and her son Chris to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she pursued a degree from Rhema Bible College. Carol had a passion for serving the Lord, and found great purpose in helping people through their hardships with encouraging prayer and words. She would use that passion in both formal and informal capacity working along side ministries throughout her life.

Carol soon found herself back in Atlanta where she held several retail jobs. Her greatest professional employment however turned into one of her greatest personal passions when she had the opportunity to work as a nanny for the Willis family. Working as a nanny gave her the gift of getting to share in the lives of several wonderful children Patricia, James, Hodges, Elizabeth, and Rebbeca.

Carol had a love for helping people, and was at her happiest praying on behalf of people whom needed the love and support from their faith.

Carol found great joy in the marriage of her son to the wonderful Tracy Miyata. Carol cherished every chance she had to interact with her grandchildren Esha and Warren.

In her last weeks Carol left a close circle of friends in Atlanta in orer to brave a long drive to Tulsa, Oklahoma so that she could spend her last time on earth with her family and grandchildren.

Carol's memory will continued to be cherished by her family including her son Chris Miyata, his wife Tracy Miyata, and their daughter Esha Miyata, and son Warren Miyata. As well as her sister Kathy Buchenroth.

Carol also had great love for her extended family the Willis family. Wife Patti and husband Jim, and their children Patricia, James, Hodges, Elizabeth, and Rebecca.
