Brock Wayne Beasley

September 15, 1967 — March 13, 2019

Brock Wayne Beasley, Broken Arrow resident passed away with loving family by his side on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the age of 51 years. Brock was born on September 15, 1967 in Russell, KS to his parents, Virgil and Karen (Riley) Beasley.

Brock’s parents moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1976, where he and his brother Bradley grew up. Brock attended Broken Arrow schools and was a member of the 1986 graduating class. While in high school Brock was a gifted athlete in several sports. After graduation Brock attended Tulsa University, and traveled the world chasing new adventures.

He met the love of his life, Barbara Holt, on a blind date in June of 1999 while living in Grand Junction, Colorado, and they were married on March 15, 2003 in Tulsa, OK.

Brock worked as a mobility seating specialist for over 18 years. He was a very talented artist in any medium. He had a natural gift and loved to share it with others.

Due to injuries Brock suffered in an accident during the summer of 1989, he needed to rely on a wheelchair during his recovery. The accident changed Brock and his family’s lives forever. It is during this time; he met a group of people that positively influenced his life forever; members from the Tulsa Rollin’ Roustabouts Wheelchair basketball team. This special group of friends welcomed Brock into their group and thru their friendship and fellowship, showed Brock he could overcome any obstacle placed before him. Brock enjoyed playing as a member of the team for over 17 years.

Brock had a life-long dream of owning a Harley motorcycle. He was able to fulfill that dream in 2009 when he and his wife each bought one. While living in Kansas, Brock and Barbara were active in the Harley Owners Group in Olathe, KS. Brock served as HOG Director for a period of time. Brock really enjoyed every time he was able to climb on his Harley, strap his wheelchair to the back seat, start it up and head out on the open road, feeling the wind in his face. It is these times where he felt free of the daily confines his body experienced. He soared among the eagles and was on top of the world, being able to ride lifted his spirits and helped him cope with his limitations.

Brock was a free-spirit, and a very unique individual. Not one to go with the flow, his collection of vehicles over the years reflected this, from the old ambulance he had when they met to the hearse he had when he and Barbara got married. They used to take the kids trick or treating on Halloween in the hearse and he was “the coolest” dad in town. Brock loved kids. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Beasley.

Brock leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Barbara Beasley, of Broken Arrow; mother, Karen Beasley; brother, Bradley Beasley and wife Christy; nephew, Luke Beasley; niece, Lauren Beasley; children, Nicole Holt, and Ashley Holt and husband, Dustin; as well as many other loving family members & a host of friends.

Brock was a Lover of life, and a free spirit. Even with the limitations he experienced during his life, he and his family adapted and overcame each obstacle.

Brock was a very caring, compassionate, loving person who had a special gift of connecting with each person he met on a special level where he made the person feel like they were the only one in the room. He touched so many people and will be greatly missed by all.

The Celebration of Brock’s life will be held at a later date.
