Obituary for Billy Ray Sadler

Billy Ray Sadler was born on August 31, 1961, to Clay Dean Sadler and Betty Jean Sadler. He was the youngest of four brothers. Growing up, Billy loved to hunt and fish. This continued throughout his lifetime. He was also a hard worker. He worked for Okmulgee County for 8 years as a supervisor and for Tulsa County for 12 years as a heavy machine operator before he retired in 2016. Billy was always on the move and never liked to sit still. Forget sitting down and watching a movie. It wasn’t going to happen. He always had to be moving. The only movies he would actually sit still for and watch through to the end were The Green Mile and Forrest Gump. He would call people and ask what they were doing and before they could even tell him, he would say “hey, let me call you back.”

He married his wife Candy over 15 years ago in a small ceremony. Between the two of them, they had four children and 13 grandchildren. He had three sons, Billy Ray Jr., Matt, and Luke, and one daughter, Katrena. His grandchildren include Josh, Madison, Camden, Jensen, Nixon, Jonathan, Travis, Markayla, Markayle, Charles, Kristian, Erin, and Layla. He also had many nieces and nephews that he thought of as his own.

Billy was very close to his family and friends. He loved to go fishing and invite everyone over for a big fish fry. He also loved to hunt and had many deer adorning his walls. Billy was a real jokester. He loved to playfully torment everyone and laugh about it. Candy bore the brunt of most of this! He loved playing with all of the kids and giving them “ear candy” and taking them for rides on the four wheeler. Billy was loving, giving, dedicated, hard-headed, and ornery!

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Dean Sadler and Betty Jean Sadler, and one brother, Charlie James Sadler. He was survived by his wife, Candy, of Okmulgee, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Linda, of Beggs, brother, Bobby, of Okmulgee, four children, 13 grandchildren, and countless other family members. He will be missed by all. He is gone but will never be forgotten.
